About

Hello and Welcome!

My name is Katherine Dean, and I am a Registered Nurse with more than 20 years of experience caring for patients across a wide range of clinical settings. I graduated from The University of Alabama in Huntsville in 2004, and since then my nursing career has taken me through medical‑surgical units, telemetry and cardiac care units, respiratory units in the hospital setting, risk management, infection control, and Director of Nursing roles within skilled nursing facilities. For the past five years, I have served as a travel nurse in New York, North Carolina, Indiana, and California, gaining a deeper understanding of how different communities experience healthcare and where gaps in care truly exist. One need that consistently stood out to me—no matter the state or facility—was the lack of accessible, skilled foot care, especially for older adults and individuals living with chronic conditions such as diabetes or vascular insufficiency. Changes in nail thickness, foot anatomy, and overall health can make toenail care risky when performed by someone without specialized training. I felt called to be part of the solution.

To better serve this population, I recently became a Certified Foot Care Specialist through the American Foot Care Nurses Association, completing 25 hours of foot‑care‑specific continuing education and 30 hours of hands‑on clinical training. My clinical training was completed under Dr. Gabrielle Clark, DPM, in New Orleans, where I gained advanced experience in safe, gentle, evidence‑based foot care techniques. During my last year as a travel nurse, I made the decision to create Knurse LLC—a private, mobile nursing service dedicated to meeting people where they are.

Today, I provide in‑home and facility‑based toenail trimming and reduction of thickened toenails, post‑operative recovery support, and safe, reliable transport to surgeries and procedures. My mission is simple: to bring skilled, dignified, and compassionate care to those who need it, delivered with connection and comfort in the place they feel safest—their home. I’m truly excited to begin this next chapter in my nursing career, and I’m grateful you’ve taken the time to visit my page. It’s an honor to care for you or your loved ones.
